The Journal of Human Genetics has been published by the Nature Publishing Group since January 2009, on behalf of the Japan Society of Human Genetics.[1] Prior to this, it had been called the Japanese Journal of Human Genetics and was independently published by the JSHG, before Springer Verlag took over publishing in 1998.[2] While under Springer the journal changed from a bimonthly to a monthly periodical. The Journal of Human Genetics focuses on medical genetics and human genome analysis. It had a 2008 impact factor of 2.431.[3]
